Gravitas Ventures, a Red Arrow Studios company, has acquired all US rights to the timely documentary Alt-Right: Age of Rage. Directed by Adam Bhala Lough (The New Radical), the film features Daryle Lamont Jenkins and Richard Spencer. Alt-Right: Age of Rage will be in select theaters in August 2018 and then on VOD and on Digital HD on October 30, 2018.

“We’re excited to partner with the filmmakers of Alt-Right: Age of Rage on this timely documentary surrounding the first year of the Trump administration,” said Laura Florence, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Gravitas Ventures.  “It’s a gripping and powerful exposé on the state of our country today – where tensions are high – forcing Americans to pick sides and to question our core values more than ever before.”

In the documentary, Trump has won and the Alt-Right is on the rise. His improbable victory brought a previously hidden movement out of the fringe. On the other side, the collective Antifa and civil rights organizations like the SPLC and NAACP are fighting back in the courts, the media, and the streets. Alt-Right: Age of Rage is a hard-hitting exposé, investigating major players on both sides of the battle. As tensions between Americans in the first year of the Trump era boil over, the battle culminates in the tragic events of Charlottesville.

Lough is no stranger in the Indie Film Festival circuit. His previous documentary, The New Radical (2017) and the crime drama, Weapons (2007), were nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival. His 2009 documentary on Lil’ Wayne, The Carter, was touted by Indiewire as, “One of the best music documentaries of the 21st Century.” In 2003, Bomb the System was nominated for Best Narrative Feature at the Tribeca Film Festival.

Nolan Gallagher, CEO of Gravitas Ventures negotiated the deal with CAA on behalf of the filmmakers. Alex Needles and Michael Karbelnikoff of Allydayeveryday produced the film with Peter Kline, Greg Stewart, and Brent Stiefel serving as executive producers. Gunpowder and Sky is handling international sales for the film.
