Jan David Frouman

Chairman & CEO, Red Arrow Studios

Jan David Frouman is Chairman & CEO of Red Arrow Studios, a ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE company. 

Jan has been a member of the Executive Board of ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE since March 1, 2016, and is responsible for the Group’s global content production and global sales segment. Previous responsibilities also include the Group’s TV operations, including all TV channel brands in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

Prior to launching Red Arrow in 2010, Jan spent six years with ProSiebenSat.1 where he held various corporate positions within the Group's TV channels and content divisions, including Executive Vice President, Group Content Acquisitions and Production, responsible for licensed programming deals, production company assets, and the Group's international distribution unit.

Previously, Jan was a Director at Saban Capital Group, a media-focused private equity firm in Los Angeles, CA, and, in 2003, was a member of the Saban transaction team that led and executed the acquisition of ProsiebenSat.1 Media. Jan has a bachelor's degree from Colgate University and an MBA from USC's Marshall School of Business. He lives with his wife and their two children in Munich.

 

James Baker

President, Production Group, Red Arrow Studios

As President of Red Arrow Studios' Production Group, James works across the Group’s global production operations and strategic initiatives. He also remains directly responsible for Red Arrow Studios' UK-based businesses and global scripted strategy.

Prior to Red Arrow, James spent 11 years at Sky, including two stints as Controller of Sky One and finally as Managing Director, Networked Media. After leaving Sky in 2007, James worked with media private equity group Fleming Media before joining Current TV, Al Gore's groundbreaking web and TV network as UK General Manager.

James has over 20 years of experience leading commissioning and channel management at MTV Networks and BSkyB, in particular spearheading Sky’s move into original commissioning and co-production across drama, comedy and entertainment. 

 

Dr. Raimo Reese

Chief Financial Officer, Red Arrow Studios

As Chief Financial Officer, Raimo oversees Red Arrow Studios' financial activities.

Raimo joined the ProSiebenSat.1 Group in 2011. As part of the Group Controlling department, he has managed a range of Controlling and Finance work across all areas of ProSiebenSat.1. His roles have included VP Finance & Controlling for Red Arrow, leading the Controlling team; and most recently Senior Vice President Finance US, managing all finance related topics for Red Arrow Studios in the US.

Prior to joining ProSiebenSat.1, Raimo worked for Deutsche Bank as a VP in the Group Strategy & Planning department, where he was involved in M&A deals and strategy projects.

Raimo studied business administration at the European Business School (ebs) in Oestrich-Winkel and received his doctorate specializing in Finance from the University of Munich (LMU) in 2007.

 

Martin Metzger

Chief Legal & Business Affairs Officer, Red Arrow Studios

As Chief Legal & Business Affairs Officer, Martin oversees legal and business affairs throughout the Red Arrow Studios portfolio.

Martin Metzger joined the ProSiebenSat.1 Group in 2000 and first worked as legal counsel for various departments. Later he assumed different positions in ProSiebenSat.1’s legal unit, like Head of New Business Projects and Head of TV Production.

Before joining Red Arrow Studios, he was Vice President Production Law. Martin has a law degree from the Ludwig Maximilian University and lives with his wife and child in Munich.

 

Michael Schmidt

Chief Creative Officer, Red Arrow Studios

As Chief Creative Officer, Michael oversees Red Arrow Studios' global format development, acquisitions, creative partnerships, and international production rollouts worldwide.

Michael has worked in the television industry for more than 20 years, specifically in the fields of broadcasting, producing, commissioning and development. He started his career while still in school as a researcher and writer at pubcaster WDR in Cologne. Michael's subsequent positions included TV Director at entertainment producer BRAINPOOL, Creative Producer for RTL Television's entertainment department, Executive Producer and Consultant for Granada Germany and Director Editorial at young entertainment station VIVA.

Michael joined the ProSiebenSat.1 Group in 2005, undertaking various roles, including Senior Vice President of Entertainment for German Free-TV operations. During his time at ProSieben, Michael's productions received a German TV award, several German comedy awards and the prestigious Grimme Award. His strong producing and commissioning background has earned him considerable respect in the international TV community. Michael lives with his wife and their three children in New York.

 

Henrik Pabst

President, Red Arrow Studios International

Henrik leads Red Arrow Studios International, the Group's TV distribution division across scripted, factual and formatted shows. The company is also a major co-producer of global entertainment.

Prior to joining Red Arrow Studios in 2011, Henrik worked for IMG Media as Vice President of Entertainment and Business Development for the German, Austrian, Swiss, and Benelux markets. He has also worked in TV production and development, particularly within the areas of sports, formats and non-fiction in various roles and companies.

Henrik previously led the company’s international format acquisitions, before becoming Deputy MD, and then Joint MD of the company responsible for Global Format & Factual Distribution. He took over sole responsibility for the company in November 2014.

 

Reza Izad

CEO, Studio71

Reza Izad is co-founder and global CEO of Studio71, a multi-platform media company that produces and distributes original entertainment programming. As global CEO of Studio71, he helms the most engaged digital network on YouTube with 1,300 channels driving 7 billion views a month. Under his leadership Studio71 has expanded globally by joining the ProSiebenSat.1 Group and taking investments from France’s leading commercial network, TF1 and Italian broadcaster, Mediaset.

Prior to Studio71 Izad was a partner at The Collective Management Group, the world's largest management firm, where he lead the music department and worked with artists such as Linkin Park, Kanye West, Enrique Iglesias, Slash, Counting Crows, Alanis Morissette and Michael Bolton.

Previously, Izad was an agent at United Talent Agency, where he launched the firm’s music and branded entertainment divisions, working with Eminem, T-Bone Burnett, Justin Timberlake, Prince and more. At UTA, Izad also helped create award-winning brand integration campaigns for Fortune 500 companies such as Ammirati Puris Lintas, Kenneth Cole, Bausch & Lomb, and Loews Theatres.

Izad is a graduate of the University of Southern California.
